I'll be drinking champagne and embarassing Harriet in many and varied ways.

I'm still uncomfortable around them, but Harriet likes the one that seems to be visiting us. She's prayed about it and she's convinced its her mother coming to see her.

I don't know, I'm a cynic but her reaction has been so intense, it's a little unnerving.

The show is going to kill on friday, I have good feelings about it.

And how awesome is Harriet?

I'm so proud of her, she really deserved the Emmy.

Of course I already have a WGA so we have a bit of a collection going down now and that's nice.

Well the actual day was Wednesday, but Harriet had whisked me away to New York to catch some plays and went to visit my Mom.

1. When is the first time you can remember making someone laugh?
It would have been elementary school, I know you will find this hard to believe but I was not the most popular kid in my class. In order to survive cracking jokes and getting good at it were the way I didn't get picked on.

2. Where and when did you lose your virginity?
The where was college, the when was October 23rd 1988 at 11.27pm EST. These things emblazon themselves on your mind.

4. Is there one moment that stands out for you as one where you were the happiest you've ever been?
Am I allowed to say now? I've just moved into a house with the woman I love, my best friend's just got all he wanted and my demons are pretty quiet right now. I think that qualifies.

5. Do you have/have you ever had a hero or a mentor you looked up to?
Wes Mendel was my mentor. Studio 60 was his baby and I feel very fortunate that my journey as a writer was guided in part by this man. I still feel this way despite anything else that might have happened. The guy's a genuis.

Well I've been quiet, partly because I've been away on a short vacation and partly because I've been orchestrating both a house move and a marger of two households into one.

I'm not really supposed to do much heavy lifting since the back operation and so we've had some burly guys around to do that.

The upshot is and we're now ready to share is that Harriet and I have got a place together.

We have room for house guests so if you want to drop by scope out the new pad, guests are welcome.

Nell, you can bring Charlie if he's housebroken and you both promise to keep whatever it is you traumatised Cal with to a guest room.

It's been a hell of a time.


You all know about Tom's brother and Danny, Jordan and Becky; I've kind of got a thing that I need to share with you guys.

Despite all your good wishes and nice things you've all been saying the show has been sucking for weeks and the reason behind this is I've been writing the show whilst high.

I've not been in good shape mentally and that shouldn't be an excuse, but it's all that Ihad for a while.

I know I don't have to tell you guys this, but I am because I screwed up badly and if I do talk about it, I might be that little less likely to screw up in the future.

So now you all know.

I'm done with the pills and I've found the desire to write again, so stick with the show. I promise you it will be awesome this coming friday.
